Learning Assistance Center
Purpose
Offers free workshops that help students' learn and improve their success skills. Topics include:
- time management
- listening/note taking
- effective reading
- how to prepare for exams
- how to write a research paper
The Center also assists by doing diagnostic analyses of learning styles, assisting in standardized exam preparation (such as the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT), tutoring in specific content areas, and providing a quiet study area.
Groups can take advantage of programs in addition to the workshops, such as:
- creating college success through wellness
- making decisions about alcohol and other drugs
- introduction to career planning and decision making
- building friendships and relationships
- understanding your family
- understanding your personality
