Data tables can range from being simple to very complex. A lot of the complexity comes from annotations, as well as the need for grouping either rows or columns, or both.
The COLSPAN= and ROWSPAN= modifiers to the <TD> container are essential to the creation of complex data tables. Their use becomes quite routine after a bit of practice. Make sure that they are added to your basic capabilities. You will find them to be much more useful that you expect. Take our word for it!
