Statement
Ecology of avian frugivore- fruit plant systems. I would like to understand how social flocking avian foragers organize their foraging across patchily distributed plant food resources and why these organizational patterns and behaviors, if present, exist in these study systems. In addition, I am equally interested in the strategies plants have evolved to discourage seed predation. Avian fruit foraging is tied to fruit availability which often is influenced the local climate, therefore, I am also interested in the fruiting phenology of plant species available to the avian model species used.
