Seabird Colony Locations

Fossil evidence and historical accounts show that seabirds were once widespread throughout the Hawaiian Archipelago. Today, nesting birds are primarily restricted to the remote Northwest Hawaiian Islands and small offshore islets around the main Islands. Some species persist on the main Islands, however, either nesting in protected coastal sites or at high elevations.
