The Blue Cell has been treated to show the pattern of the most recently deposited Cellulose.

The image on the right is from the same cell but it is stained with antibodies for Tubulin which revel the Microtubules just beneath the Plasmalemma.

It is clear that the orientation of the Microtubules is parallel to the orientation of the Cellulose Fibrils.
