Another example of a plant nucleus. This nucleus contains a lot of Heterochromatin. This indicates that a small amount of RNA synthesis is occurring. (U of Wis.)


TEM image of a nucleolus. Its borders are "fenestrated". Fenestra refers to windows. This indicates that RNA synthesis is probably occurring.

Another dark Nucleolus. Note the Nuclear Envelope in the upper left-hand corner. It is composed of two "unit" membranes. This nucleus has a lot of Euchromatin.
