The internal membrane system is composed of Thylakoids. These can form Grana. The light harvesting pigments and the Electron Transport System are located in an organized fashion on the thylakoids.

The Protoplasm in a Chloroplast is called the Stroma. It contains Ribosomes, DNA and many enzymes. A small starch grain (S) is visible near the bottom of the frame.
