In this experiment, we have seeded replicate tubs with an identical mixture of 7 plant species,
but we have infected the soil in the tubs with different species of mycorrhizae. The purpose is to
determine how strongly plant community development is shaped by individual species of mycorrhizae.
We are also evaluating whether mycorrhizal species affect susceptibility of the plant communies to
invasion by later arriving species (Graduate student: Elizabeth Stampe).
