D. laxa	Artificial Hybrid	D. scabra

Due to unavailability of photos of  D.  laxa subsp. pseudoplantaginea, subsp. laxa is pictured here.  In fact, D. laxa subsp. laxa hybridizes naturally with D. scabra subsp. leiophylla on W Maui and the formal name Dubautia laxa var. blakei Degener & Sherff has been applied to the natural hybrid but no photos of that combination are available.  The hybrid depicted here had a pollen stainability of 40% and a maximum chromosome configuration of 10_II + 2M₄ at meiosis.
