Anisocarpus scabridus x Carlquistia muirii

This hybrid combination had a pollen stainability of 9% but the stainable grains were larger than normal and tetracolporate, suggesting that they were derived from unreduced (diploid) meiocytes. During meiosis the hybrid produced mostly univalents and multiple associations of chromosomes. The spectrum of chromosome associations observed indicates that the parental genomes are differentiated by at least three chromosome translocations.
