This hybrid combination is produced locally in small numbers on 'Eke and Pu'u Kukui, W Maui. Pollen stainability of 4 individuals averaged 65%. The names xArgyroxiphium kai Keck and Argyroxiphium caliginis var kai C. Forbes have been applied to individuals of this combination.
