Sony DSC-F55 Tests

Flowers & Related Pictures

All these photos were taken with the 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution and fine quality (minimal JPEG compression).  The original photos have been manipulated a bit with Micrographx Publisher 8.  Generally this involved a small amount of tone balancing.  A few had very light sharpening in the light areas.

The thumbnails shown here are reductions to 300 x 225 pixels. After the size reduction, each thumbnail image was sharpened.

Clicking on a thumbnail will retrieve a full size picture.  Be warned: each of these large images is > 400 K (some are quite a bit larger).

The first three pictures were taken at Foster Botanical Garden.

The bird of paraside and plumeria were photographed in full sunlight with the light coming from the front, while the orchid below had most of the lighting coming from the rear.

A new collection of plumeria flowers has been added.  Click this link to see some examples from the Dean Conklin Plumeria Garden at Honolulu Botanical Garden's Koko Crater Garden.

The two plumerias photographs here were taken on the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus. The buds were in the shade.  The plumeria flowers that had fallen to the ground were in sunlight that was filtered through light clouds. Both pictures were from the area between the Watanabe Hall and the Student Health Center.

The hibiscus photograph was taken in front of Honolulu Hale in full sunlight.

The waterlily photograph is from the pond in front of the UHM Summer Session offices in Krauss Hall.

The green mangoes are from Nancy's parents house in Kahala.  These will be revisited in a few weeks; expect a lot more color.

The three crown flower pictures are from Nancy's parents house.

The pictures on this page are expected to be replaced as new photos are taken.  If you need to see a picture that is no longer shown, please send email to kim@hawaii.edu.
