Distribution & Habitat Found in an elevation range from sealevel to 2,320 m on all the main islands except Ni`ihau and Kaho`olawe (Wagner, et al. 19XX: 1104).  Found in the Cook Islands, Tonga, and Hawai`i. 

Typical habitats in Hawai`i include coastal cliffs, open lava fields, dry shrublands, and dary to mesic forests.  They can be found in highly disturbed areas (Wagner, et al., 19XX: 1105).

General Appearance
Shrub that can grow up to three feet (1 m) tall.  There are often lots of branches (Wagner, et al. 19XX: 1104).
Leaves
The leaves are 2 to 7 cm long.

The upper leaf surface is grossy.  The veins are raised.  The margin is entire (Wagner, et al. 19XX: 1104).

Flowers & Fruits
Fruits are white, with white or purple flesh.  These fruit are about 1 cm across.  The seeds are yellowisn, about 1.5 mm in diameter.
