Distribution & Habitat Native to Africa and found widely in the tropics.  In Hawai`i it is on all the main islands except Ni`ihau (Wagner, et al. 1990: 1562).

General Appearance
A strong-smelling perennial grass that grows up to 1 m tall (Wagner, et al. 1990: 1562). Puhimau Hot Spot
