| Why are Plants Useful to Us? |
|
Plants are very useful to humans for many different purposes. The chemical and structural components that humans find useful in plants often have important ecological functions. Many plants have toxic chemicals that humans have learned to detoxify in a number of ways. However plant chemicals can be beneficial to both the plant health and human health and this has implications for agriculture and human diet. This episode presents a range of questions about plant usefulness along with answers using specific examples of human interactions with plants.
