Grades

General Policy

Grades in graduate courses depend, in large part, on active course participation.  This includes voicing interests and concerns in discussions, making suggestions to the entire class, and ...

Active participation is dependent on finishing any assignments prior to the class meeting.  You must be prepared if you are going to be an effective participant.

Assignments such as projects are expected to be done on time and in a professional manner.  The professional standard includes the proper use of English, including correct spelling.  If you are deficient in this area, seek the assistance of someone who will proofread your work before it is submitted.

Graded Class Components

Class Component Points
Class Participation (including Techniques from the Literature presentations) 10 points for each class meeting (unexcused absence = 0 points)
Final Presentation of the Tool Description Assignment 50 points
Written Presentation of the Tool Description Assignment 200 points
Final Examination 100 points

Grades will be based upon a flat scale: 90% and above = A, 80%-90% = B, 70%-80% = C, etc. This scale will not be raised but may be lowered.
