Cognitive Ethnobotany

Grades (Spring 2007)

Grades are based upon a flat scale: 90% = A, 80% = B, 70% = C, etc. This scale will not be raised but may be lowered.

  • Daily Participation:
    • Regular: 300 points - Class attendance and participation
  • Projects/Homework:
    • 400 points
  • Exams:
    • Midterm Exam: 150 points
    • Final Exam: 150 points
  • Extra Credit:
    • A minimal amount of extra credit will be offered. This will involve a great deal of work for minimal reward so students should not bank on getting extra credit later to make up for poor work habits each in the course.
  • Missed classes/exams.
    • It is expected that most students will miss a few class sessions. These may not be made up. Participation points (above) are based upon an assumption that students participate in most regular class sessions.
    • Missed exams should be made up as soon as possible.
    • Students with special needs for class or exams should contact the instructor early in the course so that special arrangements may be made.

  • Total = 1000 points
