Botany 442: Medical Ethnobotany
Grades
- Grades are based upon a flat scale: 90% = A, 80% = B,
70% = C, etc. This scale will not be raised but may be lowered.
- Daily Participation:
- 400 points 10 points/day X 40 days
- Plant Family Project:
- 200 points Completed family database

- 100 points 30 non-internet reference
sources
- 100 points 5 minute in class presentation
(50% examples, 30% content, 10% organization, 10% timing)
- Group Participation Project:
- 100 points (Time to be announced with at
least two optional Saturdays in the Semester)
- Exams:
- 200 points 10 Quizzes X 20 points each (Based upon readings
since last quiz)
- 200 points Midterm exam (covering lectures 1-20)
- 200 points Final Exam (covering lectures
1-43)
- Extra Credit:
- 100 points Participation as 'awa festival
volunteer
- 200 points (additional Plant Family
Project with all three parts)
Exams
- Examinations will consist of questions taken from the
readings and lectures.
- Students who have difficulty taking exams should discuss their situation
with the instructor during the first week of class.
- Exam questions may be multiple choice, short answer,
or essay.
