ISLAND OF MOLOKAI
papohaku beach-north end

![]()
This site was a very long sandy beach that is directly exposed to the west. Due to the extremely large surf we were not able to get into the water here besides collecting from shore. At the very north end of this beach there was a large resort. The Popohaku beach park is situated In the middle of the beach. There were some large sandstone shelves that were exposed when the waves retreated. Some very small algal specimens were collected from the sandstone bench. there was no evidence of alien algae at this site.
