The Taxonomy and Ecology of Algal Macrophytes T.E.A.M. was initiated in the spring of 2001 and is sponsored by the Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative Program (HCRI). Funding for the HCRI has been provided primarily by the National Ocean Service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The primary purpose of this research program (TEAM) is to provide taxonomic and ecological algal expertise for the Coral Reef Monitoring and Assessment Program (CRAMP). Our group also seeks to develop, implement and assess new methodologies for quantitatively surveying benthic algal communities in the Hawaiian Islands.
