Plant Importation
Everyone is aware of the general problem of introducing new plants and animals into Hawaii. The "alien species" situation is very severe and should be everyone's concern. Not only are there strict rules governing the importation of species, but we as specialists should constantly remind the public -- with words and deeds -- that we understand the importance of such restrictions.
Plant exportation is equally important.

Permits
Permits must be obtained from the US Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture.
