Telephones and Fax

Telephones

Graduate students have a telephone either in the room with their office, or in a nearby room. These phones are shared by many students, so special consideration has to be given to answering the phone, notifying other students of calls, and not talking too long. These student phones can not be used for long distance calls.

Neighbor Island and other long distance calls can be made with your advisor's approval. There are few department funds to support this expense, so extreme discretion should be used.

FAX The department's fax number is 808-956-3923. Outgoing fax are subject to the same restrictions as long distance calls; use discretion to minimize this expense. There are log sheets for fax use that must be filled out and deposited in the try next to the fax machine.
