Conference Facilities

Reserving Rooms

General purpose classrooms and auditoriums are controlled by the University. Call Roberta Enoke, 956-7953 to reserve one of these rooms.

Facilities available in the larger rooms can be viewed on line with the CIS home page.

University Conference Office

The University Conference Office provides assistance in planning and implementing your local, state-wide, national and international conferences, conventions, workshops or symposia. They can design and format the program, develop and administer the conference budget and collect registration fees, develop and print promotional literature, secure attractive travel and lodging accommodations for participants, and make logistical arrangements for meeting rooms and arrange for catering, audio-visual, entertainment and general clerical assistance. They do not have a conference center and are strictly service-oriented. This office is located in Sakamaki D-400. [check whether they still exist - KWB]

East-West Center

The East-West Center is well known for its international seminars, workshops and conferences. Its facilities in Jefferson Hall include the large Amin Conference Center (ground floor), the mid-sized Asia and Pacific Rooms (upstairs), and seveal smaller conference rooms. There is also an auditorium in Burns Hall, along with meeting rooms in the various Institutes. Since collaborative projects are encouraged between the University and the East-West Center, these excellent facilities are occasionally used for botanically-oriented activities.

St. John Auditorium (Room 011)

This room, seating about 80 people, can be scheduled for use outside regular class hours by contacting the University Room Scheduling Office (phone???). After-hours use requires that a special form be completed so that security and maintenance personnel efforts can be coordinated.

You can get an inventory of this room, more pictures of it, and a map showing its location from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Center for Instructional Support.
