The crossing diagram at the left shows hybrid combinations that are known to occur in nature or that have been artificially created. Argyro=Argyroxiphium, Dubaut=Dubautia, Wilkes=Wilkesia. As may readily be seen, hybrids have been produced between some of the most divergent members of the silversword alliance. The results suggest that any two members of this alliance may be expected to have the potential to produce viable hybrid progeny. |
